Plot Summary

It’s revealed that Samuel suffered a stroke, and while Athena and Bobby put their honeymoon on hold to travel to Florida to support him, the 118, with Hen at the lead as the new interim captain, respond to a man who apparently blew up his neighbor thinking he was a gopher tunneling under his garden, but it is discovered he was deliberately trying to kill his neighbor for sleeping with his wife. Hen exhausts herself trying to juggle work and med school, and nearly gets into a car accident as a result. Athena is upset that her mother is in denial over her father’s condition, and when Bobby tries to play peacemaker, he ends up arguing with Beatrice. Three men at a wellness convention are crushed by falling rubble when the convention center collapses, killing one of them. Hen is crestfallen to discover that she failed her final exam and decides to quit med school and be a paramedic full time. Bobby and Beatrice make up and the latter later opens up to Athena about how she fears losing Samuel. The episode ends with Athena returning to find her parents’ house swarming with police, as Bobby, while trying to help repair the damage to the house, discovered the body of Tanya Kingston, whose disappearance 45 years ago first inspired Athena to become a cop.
